Volunteer Needs

  • Homework Tutors: Work alongside our staff and StreetLeaders in a classroom by tutoring and reading to elementary and middle school students. Time Commitment: Monday or Tuesday from 4:15-6:15pm
  • Academic Tutors: Tutor our StreetLeaders for the ACT/SAT and in academic subjects including math, science and language arts. Time Commitment: Fridays, 4:00-5:00pm
  • “Options” Teachers: During the AfterSchool Program, students have the opportunity to choose an “Options Class” to attend, where they will develop a life skill they might not have the chance to learn outside of the AfterSchool Program. Possible skills might include cooking, fitness, gardening, dance, art, music, or LEGO robotics. An “Options Teacher” volunteers to design a 10-week course around a skill of their choice. Time Commitment: Wednesdays, 5:15 – 6:15 PM.
  • Provide Snacks for our AfterSchool Program: We are seeking food donations in order to provide snacks for our elementary and middle school students Monday-Thursday at our AfterSchool Programs. An ideal snack consists of a snack bag packed with: one small water; one fruit (bananas, oranges, apples, fruit cups, etc.); one “protein” (to-go peanut butter cups, trail mix, etc.); and one “grain” (crackers, cereal bar, granola bar, goldfish, pretzels, bagel, etc.).
