Krystal Osborne is a native of Morristown, New Jersey. She was raised by two hard-working parents and has one amazing sister. Krystal attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in primary education.

Krystal began her formal career in education by serving as a teaching assistant. The following year, Krystal joined the new and rapidly growing Title I charter school, KIPP Change Academy, serving as a Founding Teaching Fellow. During her first few months at KIPP, Krystal was promoted from teaching fellow to founding lead teacher. In that same school year, Krystal earned Teacher of the Year, largely due to her students earning the highest academic growth that school year. Krystal went on to serve as a kindergarten, first grade, and third grade teacher. She helped the school grow from 150 students to 600 students. During her final two years at KIPP she served as a founding reading interventionist, and also as a Teaching Fellow Coach.

As a child, Krystal’s family prioritized the importance of family, helping the youth, and faith in Jesus. Krystal has exhibited these same values throughout her career as a teaching assistant, teaching fellow, lead teacher, reading interventionist, and teacher coach. Krystal is excited to join the UrbanPromise community because of its mission to provide Charlotte's children and youth with the spiritual, academic, and social development necessary to become Christian leaders determined to restore their community. This mission directly aligns with her passion, values, experience, and faith.
