Savannah Brown was born and raised in Lorain, OH. She attended Johnson C. Smith University and Ohio Dominican University in which she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Savannah also attended Liberty University and received a Masters of Arts in Teaching Special Education.

As an educator over the last 9 years of teaching, Savannah has always desired to keep faith embedded in her teaching philosophy and pedagogy through modeling character education and true passion to reach kids. She has also served on the board of local nonprofits.

She came across UrbanPromise and the mission to reach a child, raise a leader, and restore the community and immediately became captivated by the opportunity to lead authentically, in purpose, and how God has called her to. Her passion is simply to propel others to do the same.

During her time with UrbanPromise she has served as a Middle School Director and Site Director. At Camp Freedom she has piloted the Freedom Community Garden and Eco-Club program who's aim is to;

1. Enhance the Urban Promise approach to holistic development for children and youth in afterschool programs by including ecotheraputic programming focused on reconnecting youth to land and nature.

2. Educate youth about access to nature as a social determinant of health and empower children and youth to expand their connection and access for the sake of their overall, physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness.
