dEBBIE HERNANDEZ: operations manager

DEBBIE@urbanpromisecharlotte.org

Creative Servant. Community Builder.

Debbie is a Charlotte native and proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants who serves as Operations Manager at the Central Site. She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from Central Piedmont Community College, a Human Resources certification from UNC Charlotte, and graduated in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies from UNC Charlotte — as a mother of three, which she counts among her greatest accomplishments. Her professional background spans staffing, church administration, and creative freelancing, and her roots in service run deep: she grew up as the oldest of a pastor's kids in a startup church, where she first developed her gifts through leading and supporting ministries. Debbie came to UrbanPromise through her sisters, who served as both StreetLeaders and staff, and has since experienced the organization's impact from nearly every angle — as a Promise Coach, and as a mom whose children attended camp.

Outside of UrbanPromise, Debbie is a worship leader at her local church. She spends her time with her husband, three daughters, and their dog Daisy — enjoying family bike rides, home-cooked meals, and a good documentary.
