Equity Advocate. Bridge Builder.

Geraldine is a first-generation college graduate and lifelong learner who serves as Academic Coordinator at the Camp Joy. She holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and has built her career around expanding access to learning — through roles in college recruitment, career coaching, and coordinating an adult ESL program.

Her connection to UrbanPromise runs deep: she joined as a junior StreetLeader in the summer of 2014, the year before her freshman year of high school, and has stayed connected ever since. When the Academic Coordinator position opened, it was the role she had been waiting for — one that brought together her passion for working directly with students and her commitment to educational achievement.

Born in Mexico City and raised in Charlotte, Geraldine is a member of multiple book clubs and a self-described outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking with friends and family. At home, she shares her space with her cat, Chamomile.
