JAsmine wooten: academic coordinator

Jasmine is an experienced educator and first-generation college graduate who serves as the Academic Coordinator at UrbanPromise’s East site (Camp Hope). She earned her B.A. in English from Kean University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education before spending nearly a decade in the classroom, primarily teaching high school English. Since joining the team in 2025, she has focused on translating her classroom expertise into a new kind of impact, continuing to support high school students. 

Originally from Chester, PA, Jasmine was raised between Pennsylvania and Delaware and has a deep appreciation for the arts, including vocal music and dance. She loves serving on her church’s hospitality team and is a competitive weekly league bowler, a tradition passed down from her grandparents. As a long-standing Yelp Elite member in Charlotte, Jasmine is a local expert on the city's food scene and hidden gems. When she isn't at UrbanPromise, Jasmine can be found at Spanish conversation hour at the library, maintaining her Yelp Elite status, or at home in front of her fireplace.
