Collegiate "Mama Bear." Holistic Supporter | Enneagram 4

As a first generation college graduate, Tish knows firsthand the challenges and opportunities that UrbanPromise students experience. A graduate of Elizabeth City State University, Tish then received her Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University before spending five years in the classroom as a middle school ELA teacher. She began her career with UrbanPromise in 2021 as Middle School Literacy Director, followed by time as a StreetLeader Director. In 2024, she was named Alumni Director of University Success. Tish is deeply committed to holistic support, helping young adults transition from the safe haven of UrbanPromise into the wider collegiate world.

A Charlotte native, Tish finds restoration outside of work through her faith and her creativity. She is a dedicated member of Marathon Praise Ministries and a passionate crafter and painter. Tish is also a proud dog mom to her two fur babies, Casanova and Kase, and isn't afraid to joke about "hoarding her energy" during her downtime to stay refreshed for her students.

“I first learned about UrbanPromise in 2017 and was truly blown away by how Christ and education coexisted in one environment. UrbanPromise allows me to fully embrace my well-deserved title of "Mama Bear," enabling me to cater to the diverse needs of the younger generation as I support four-year university students through their collegiate journeys and young adulthood.”
