Rolanda is a longtime UrbanPromise Charlotte leader who brings a solution-oriented, people-minded approach to her work. After graduating from Johnson C. Smith University, Rolanda taught middle and high school science in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Inspired by her years in the classroom, she developed a passion for community building, coaching and developing others. 

She began her UrbanPromise career in 2017 as a StreetLeader Director at Camp Freedom, followed by several years as the site director. Since 2022, Rolanda has served as Deputy Director, leading site staff teams and supporting and empowering students across four sites. Fueled to better herself as a leader, Rolanda completed her Nonprofit Management Certificate at Duke University in 2025. 

A woman of many talents, Rolanda is a spirited tennis player, a published author (SZNs of Love), a facilitator of creative workshops, and the youth leader at Marathon Praise Ministries. Outside of relationship building and being creative, she is fueled by travel, arts and culture events, and frolicking around the city.
