Tiana Petree was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with minors in both Education and Entrepreneurship.
After graduation, Tiana joined Teach for America. She was in education for 5 years, as a middle school lead teacher, math teacher, and athletic coach. Toward the end of her career in public education, Tiana became more driven by her desire to support adolescent students with navigating their faith journey and establishing a firm, personal foundation in Christ. Upon leaving the classroom, Tiana began working with UrbanPromise as the Middle School Coordinator at West Site Camp Freedom. She hoped that each UrbanPromise camper would be able to walk in the fullness of their freedom daily and inspire others to do the same.
Now, as a StreetLeader Director, this passion motivates her to connect high school students with post-secondary pathways that will enable them to lead freely in choice-filled lives.
