tiana petree: North StreetLeader director

Organized Visionary. Compassionate Guide.

Tiana is a first-generation college graduate and Teach for America alumna who serves as StreetLeader Director at Camp Love. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Education and Entrepreneurship, as well as a Master's Certificate in Nonprofit Management. With five years as a middle school math teacher, experience as a cheer coach and adolescent mentor, and two years as Middle School Coordinator at Camp Freedom, Tiana brings a deep well of experience to her work with high school students. Her passion is personal: as a student who navigated barriers in childhood, and the college application process without formal support, she knows firsthand what it means to have a dream and no roadmap. UrbanPromise is, in many ways, the fulfillment of a promise she made in a scholarship essay years ago — to pour back into the next generation.

A Winston-Salem native now rooted in Charlotte, Tiana is deeply involved in her church community and serves several times a month. When she isn't investing in StreetLeaders, you'll find her exploring a new coffee shop, at a local farmer's market, or on the pickleball court.

Quick Stats:

  • Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC

  • Passion Points: Adolescent faith formation, post-secondary access, and identity development in Christ

  • Ask her about: Navigating college as a first-gen student, finding the best coffee shops in Charlotte, or pickleball

  • Superpower: Turning lived experience into a roadmap for the students who need it most

"Without God placing a mentor in my life, I would not have gone to college. Now, serving at UrbanPromise allows me the opportunity to keep my word."
